Writing in English (only foreign language I know) as being immigrant. This is one of the biggest challenge in every-day life for immigrants who are looking for a good life here in Poland from many various reasons. And language become one of the mayor obstacle and mean of discrimination. I have heard stories that people on the street just afraid foreigners because of the language, and many other stories. Today we are finalizing third working forum on local immigrants' integration policies (in Warsaw, after Krakow and Lublin). And it's the end of 1,5 year long project I was working on. Listening to the bitter stories and comments of leven not-understanding, misleading policies, lack of interest among civil servants and perception of bi fraud on the money that should work for them I feel somehow good. As my colleague Piotr Skrzypczak said, the first step is to sit down together and listen each other. Pity so little officials attended our forum, so many reasons they should be more involved, great we have some of them with us! I wish we'll continue this work.
